Computational and Theoretical Evolutionary Genetics

We study the genetic basis of adaptive evolution. The questions addressed are diverse, ranging from the molecular genetic basis of adaptation in human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) to theories and modelling of the evolution of sex and recombination. The approaches taken are mainly theoretical and computational, but also include collaborations with empiricists.
